Biography
I am Agnes Millimouno, a Sierra Leonean my Nationality.
Born on the 27th May, 1990.
I graduated with a second class upper in my undergrad in the Department of Agricultural Engineering at Njala University, Sierra Leone
Presently, am studying master's degree in the Department of Aricultural and Biological Engineering at Illinois.
Research Interests
My research interest is working on small scale irrigation with women for agriculture.
My research topic is, Optimizing the performance of the spiral water wheel pump.
Research Description
Considering the amount of water scarcity especially during the summer and its effect on the smallholder farmers and subsequently its adverse effect on agricultural production, optimizing the use of water is important. The removal of water from streams and rivers requires huge quantities of energy to power the pumps to lift water. Spiral water pumps are powered by renewable sources and naturally, without pollution, they are also less costly in comparison to electrical or fossil-fuel power-driven machines.
This study is designed to be implemented in Sierra Leone and it aimed to determine the optimum performance of a spiral pump design for head requirements and flow conditions at any given site.
